It’s time for Top Tip Tuesday!
Timeline View is an alternative option to the grid, card, Gantt, and calendar views in Smartsheet. It enables you to arrange work on a horizontal timeline and group tasks so you can track progress easily. It’s also a great visual to help with mapping campaigns, event logistics and more.
Over the past few months it’s undergone quite a few upgrades and enhancements so we thought we’d summarise the best bits for you here.
🔑 To access Timeline View, head to the view switcher in any sheet and select Timeline.
💡 Use filters to tailor your data view. These can be created, edited and saved so you don’t have to reset them each time you log in. They can also be shared with other users to make collaboration much easier.
👥 Grouping is a powerful timeline view feature which enables users to organise similar or related tasks and data into horizontal lanes. To use it, select ‘Group’ from the toolbar and select columns you want to group together using the dropdown.
